How has your multicultural heritage influenced the way you travel and eat?

In the Spring of 2014 I had the pleasure of traveling through Serbia and Bosnia & Herzegovina for Davidsbeenhere.com. We filmed beautiful scenery, cities, monuments, and met some amazing people along the way. In addition to my regular production, I wanted to showcase some highlights from my trip using my new XShot. It’s the perfect companion for whoever wants to capture their travel memories without awkward self-shots or asking others to take pictures of you. I hope you enjoy the video! Stay tuned for future episodes and articles of my trip through the Balkans. To get your own XShot click HERE.

You have done several TV appearances of Fox & Friends and The Today Show. What is your favorite segment?

But only one of the buildings continues to be the emblem of democracy, and that is the Parthenon. The Parthenon was an impressive structure for its time – a temple dedicated to Athena made entirely of Pentelic marble and adorned with intricate statues, friezes, and inscriptions about the Greek gods and Athenian victories over the Persians. Architects Iktinos and Kallikrates are credited as the masterminds behind its simple, yet elegant design. The columns of the Parthenon look straight, but are actually thicker at the base to give the illusion of symmetry. This type of optical illusion where objects converge at a single point is called linear perspective. This mathematically based system was developed by the ancient Greeks and has since been applied in many forms of art to create the illusion of depth. A notable work using these principles is the 15th century painting by Leonardo da Vinci, The Last Supper.

Throughout the centuries, residents of Ahmedabad have invented complex dances. The accompanying music was originally acoustic (using drums and singing), but people today dance to amplified modern sound systems or blend singing and drums with a live band. On the tenth day of the festival, Dashera (known as Vijayadashami in southern India), people celebrate by dancing and buying new vehicles! A crunchy, salty fried food, fafda, and jalebi, a fried sweet, are consumed on the tenth day.
